Directions to Calvary Chapel Kamakura

By Train:

If you are coming from the Tokyo/Yokohama area, take the Yokosuka train line and go toward the city of Yokosuka, which is near the end of the line. After passing Yokohama Station (the train will stop six times), the last stop being Kamakura Station. Be careful not to get off at Kita Kamakura Station, which is the station before Kamakura. If you go one station too far, you will be at Zushi Station. Kamakura Station is about 25 minutes from Yokohama Station.

If you are coming from Yokosuka, Kamakura Station is the next station after Zushi Station (about 20 minutes from Yokosuka Station).

If you are coming from another part of Japan, please transfer to the Yokosuka Line at Yokohama or Ofuna Station. Kamakura Station is just two stations from Ofuna Station.

After arriving in at Kamakura Station, please use the west exit (it is the smaller of the 2 sides). With the station behind you, turn left and walk down a narrow brick-shopping street called, Onari-dori all the way to the end (about 5 minutes). You will see a fruit and vegetable shop on your right. Turn right onto a bigger street called Yuigahama Street and walk down on the first traffic signal. The sign on the signal will read "Rokujizo." Cross the street and continue walking.  The church building will be the 4th building on your right. There is a ramen shop on the first floor.  Enter the door to the left of the hair salon. We are on the third floor.

By Car:
See our map above. Since our church does not own private parking spaces, please use public parking nearby (e.g. there are some coin parking lots in the vicinity).   We highly encourage you to take the public transportation if possible.

Our service starts at 10:30am. God bless you!

From Yoko Yoko: Exit the Yokoyoko highway at the Asahina exit.  Follow the ramp which leads to Kamakura At the end of the ramp turn left on the main road (the ramp curves and heads in the opposite direction from which you started). Turn left again at the first traffic signal and follow the traffic signs to Kamakura. The road will climb a small, wooded mountain and descend into Kamakura Keep following this road to the center of town.  You will see a big shrine on your left with a big, red tori gate in front of it.  Turn left in front of the shrine following the signs toward Kamakura train station.

Shortly after passing Kamakura Station you will go under the train tracks.  Just after this there will be a stoplight and you need to turn right at this light.  There will be a Mobile gas station on the left and a 7-11 across from it.  The road you turn right onto is Hwy 311 heading to Fujisawa Follow this.  The first traffic light after your turn is called “Rokujizo”.  The church is just past this light.  We are in the 4th building on the right.  There is a ramen shop on the first floor.  We meet on the third floor.

From Yokosuka Base (Taking RT 16. from Yokosuka Navy Base to our church)

Turn right outside the front gate onto RT. 16. Proceed in either the left or right lane. After passing Daiei Shopping Plaza, start to count the number of tunnels you pass through. (This is just another helpful way to make sure that you are on the right path.) Continue on RT. 16. You will pass through 7 tunnels all together. You will need to get into the left lane after the sixth tunnel. For some, it becomes more difficult to change lanes after this point.

After coming out of the 7th tunnel, there are 2 stoplights. If you look up before the 2nd stoplight, just slightly, you will see a very large sign in red, "TOSHIBA". You are still on the correct path. You will then come to 2 more stoplights. Before coming to the third stoplight, there is a blue sign above stating the direction of RT. 24. At the third stoplight, after the 7th tunnel, turn left onto RT. 24. Once on RT. 24 past the Maruetsu mall (looks like a DAIEI sign) on you right.

After the 11th stop light, make a right turn at 7-11 Store. This is the same 7-11 noted in the other directions, below. If you go straight you will cross 2 train tracks and end up in Ikego housing. To go to Kamakura, go over first set of train tracks and at the traffic light 1/2 mile or 1 Km after tracks(it's the only light after the train tracks) turn left.

You will come to a traffic light approx 1 Km after you turn left, follow the road through the light to the right. This road will parallel the tracks for approximately 2 miles/3 Km. You will pass several intersections that go across the tracks, don't turn! Stay on this road until you reach the dead end (if you go right you will go to a temple parking lot). Turn left and cross the tracks, this is usually a busy intersection. Once you cross the tracks, you will come to a larger road.

Turn right on this road (Highway 311) and now you are coming to several tunnels. Follow (now insert the rest of the directions already on website)----------------------------------------------------
